Welcome to Vampire Ducks Frag Arena Vampire Ducks Frag Arena is an open source first person shooter based on the GPL source for Quake3 released by ID Software. VDFA is a fork of the Open Arena project. The folks over there have done a great job of creating an exciting and fun to play game with incredible models and textures.
Our focus is to develop a LanParty Friendly version of the Open Arena project. We aim to keep it totally compatible with Open Arena, but a little friendlier for mixed groups and family environments. If this is not what you are looking for, thanks for stopping in and be sure to visit the other projects.
Thank you to everyone that has contributed to these projects for their hard work and wonderful jobs that they have done. Thus allowing us a tremendous base to start with.

 | Multi language support added to ui.qvm
There's still some font issues, so everything won't show up correct yet, but check it out any way...
The latest Pak8.pk3 now supports multiple languages for the ui menus. I used an online free translator to put place holders in. Anyone that would like to translate the menu strings to a more proper version is welcome (and encouraged) to help out. Download the source file and start translating for us. (thanks)
We currently support English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch. I can add other languages pretty easily. If you would like another language let me know. (If you are willing to translate the strings, awesome!) One caveat, there is NO support for multibyte languages. Sorry... If this ends up being popular, I might add it at sometime, but it's not in the current scope.
Usage: A new Cvar is supported: ui_language This is a numeric value from 0 - 5 (currently)
- 0 English
- 1 French
- 2 German
- 3 Spanish
- 4 Portuguese
- 5 Dutch
You can use +set ui_language number on the command line or you can enter set ui_language number from the console.
* Download and install Open Arena * Download Pak8.pk3 to your baseoa directory * Frag away...
NOTE: Using this test file requires the server to have sv_pure set to 0. If you try to connect to a server with sv_pure 1, you will get an invalid folder or some other error. To connect to sv_pure 1 servers, just delete the pak8.pk3 file.
* Links to modified source will be added shortly. Pak8.pk3 is still in test mode...
